About Me

Gershinen is unapologetically a child of God by the grace of God. His first name is Gershinen which means “boasting in the LORD” in Ngas language of Plateau State, in the middlebelt of Nigeria. He was raised in a Christian home and he formally surrendered his life to Jesus Christ in 1995. Since then, he has remained in Christ under the mercy and grace of God. He is a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world under the license of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion).

God’s love radiates in the life of Gershinen inspite of all the odds of the present life. Through the love of Christ our Saviour he was blessed with the intelligence and intellectual capacity that made him excel in life against the weakness of his academic backgrounds in the primary and secondary education in the public schools of Nigeria. One thing that is obvious about him to those who come in contact with him is his confidence in whom God is turning him into, as he totally believes God in the practical sense of Stuart Townend’s lyrics of the hymn “In Christ Alone,”“No power of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from His hand till He returns or calls me home; here in the power of Christ l’ll stand.”

He has a doctorate degree from Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, having studied in great institutions both within Nigeria and in the United States of America. It was on record that he finished his Master’s degree coursework and thesis 6 months before his classmates at Trinity School for Ministry, Ambridge, Pennsylvania, USA. He was rated one of the best students with the highest number of prizes during his convocation at the Federal College of Education, where he had his professional teacher education course before proceeding to the seminary for theological studies. His academic mentor is the Rt Rev’d Professor Dapo Asaju, the Bishop Theologian of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), who tutored and supervised his doctoral thesis.

As a priest, he has served as a Catechist, Deacon and Priest in different parishes of the Church of Nigeria specifically in the Dioceses of Jos, his Diocese of training and ordination, and in Abuja Diocese, where he is currently domiciled as the General Secretary of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion). He cherishes his years of curacy under the late Ven. Dr. A. A. Akinyemi, and his leadership experience as Vicar of rural and urban churches, as well as the experience of chaplaincy at the four secondary schools he was privileged to serve as Chaplain. It is noteworthy to stress that while he served as the Chaplain of the Students’ Chapel, he was at the same time the Administrator and Principal of the Schools. Actually, under the tutelage of his Bishop, the Most Rev’d Dr Benjamin A. Kwashi, he was at one point Chaplain, Administrator & Principal, as well as an Assisting Priest of the Cathedral of St Luke, Jos. He also served as an associate priest at Grace Church, Edgeworth, PA, USA.

Gershinen has written some educational and biblical books; you can get the hard copy or PDF of the same here. He is by training, experience and exposure an educational consultant whose inputs has helped in growing schools within Nigeria. He is a registered member of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). He can offer consultancy services to growing Christian writers and can be their publisher if their work meets the standard, and is always available for pastoral counselling and biblical teachings. He has attended both academic and ministerial conferences within and outside Nigeria, which have greatly impacted his life and ministry.

Importantly, he is married to Michelle, an angel, an epitome of beauty with godliness, a homemaker, an educationist, and role model for many, a godly wife, a loving mother, and a daughter of the Most High God. She blends in easily and takes roles in excellent ways to compliment her husband’s life and ministry. They love their children: Adriel, Amaris and Aviela.

He is currently the General Secretary of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), a position that places him in charge of the Administration of the Church of Nigeria at the St Matthias House, the headquarters of the Church of Nigeria located in Abuja, Nigeria. By this, God has created a niche for further training and exposure under the Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) – He served under Archbishop Nicholas D. Okoh while he was the Primate and now the current Primate, the Most Rev’d Henry C. Ndukuba. Frankly speaking, though an administrator, Paul is excitedly learning as he serves the Church of God.

Gershinen loves reading, writing, and listening to biblical and Spirit inspired messages. His love for contemporary music has never shrouded his deep desire and love for hymns. Although there are many hymns that can be said to be his favourite, one of them that stands out is by Eliza E. Hewitt “My Faith Has Found A Resting Place.”

Dear cantor of Nigeria’s woes, God redirects you: Sing and chant no more, go and work, work, and work. Go and work in the light of God.

Jesus was named based on prophesy not circumstances that His name will rule in all circumstances.

Leadership position is a trust. Leaders must be careful not to destroy what was given to them as a trust. Don't break the heritage, perpetuate it.
